/ Core Commitments /
Diversity, Equity, & Inclusion
At ARTBOX, we know that creativity and growth are fostered by diversity. We value each individual artist and community member for the ideas and perspectives that they can bring to the table. We are committed to showcasing and serving a variety of life experiences, belief systems, and identities through the art for sale in our store or on display our gallery spaces, the events and classes we offer, and the artists and organizations we host.
Sustainability & Responsible Stewardship
ARTBOX is committed to being a low-waste operation that utilizes and promotes reusable packaging, equipment, and products whenever possible. We advocate for local makers of all kinds by showcasing and selling locally-made art, as well as using locally-sourced ingredients in our café. As a space-sharing organization, we value the responsible stewardship and respectful care and use of our spaces and our earth.
Listening & Kindness
Artists and makers have the unique responsibility of being social and cultural change makers in their communities. ARTBOX is committed to fostering a safe space for people of all identities through active listening and abundant kindness. Everyone is welcome in the space, we only ask that those who enter commit to seeking to understand others before seeking to be understood.
ARTBOX Alpena is a welcoming and safe space for people of all identities, regardless of race, ethnicity, color, religion, gender, gender expression, age, sexual orientation, disability, heritage, or country of origin.
ARTBOX Alpena is currently closed due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
